CODE OF CONDUCT AND BUSINESS ETHICS COMMUNICATION FOR TRUE VALUE COMPANY

THE OBJECTIVE

Engage and motivate associates of True Value Company to recognize and apply the company’s standards for legal, ethical and honest conduct in day-to-day business operations.

IMPLEMENTING THE PROGRAM

To communicate that ethics in the workplace is not an option but the principles by which all employees are expected to do business, True Value Company called on The Rodgers Group to create communication materials to provide awareness and guidance in fostering a culture of honesty and accountability. In addition to the program’s initial launch, materials were updated to reinforce True Value’s reputation as an exceptional company with the highest standards of ethics and integrity in every operation of the business.

Elements included:

  • Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Handbook  – User-friendly design presented complicated information in an inviting and easy-to-understand format supported by images showing ethical connection to workplace settings.
  • Speak Up” Poster – Bold copy and graphics reinforced code of conduct awareness with specific call to action messaging to encourage employees to report ethical activity concerns.
  • Intranet Support – Ongoing series of online stories spotlighted key ethical issues while building awareness of handbook as important resource for guidelines.

RESULTS

An internal survey conducted by True Value confirmed that a high number of associates believe that they work for an ethical company and have knowledge of ethics issues.
